Hi  they  will  be  mostly  but  if  they  have  less  pest  snails  to  feed  on  they  might  pick  off  the  sick  or  almost  dead  ones  if  they  get  a  chance

From  my  personal  experience,  yes,  you  will  start  seeing  your  RCS  numbers  decline  slowly  but  steadily  if  you  dont  have  enough  hiding  spaces  in  your  tank.  Although  way  faster  than  the  snails,  the  RCS  or  any  other  shrimps  are  particularly  vulnerable  when  they  molt  (they  usually  molt  after  a  water  change)  and  this  is  when  they  fall  prey  to  the  assassins.

So  far  all  well,  what  should  I  feed  the  snails  to  stay  away  from  the  shrimps.

Assassin  snails  will  eat  other  snails,  if  they  do  not  find  any  snails  they  will  go  after  other  easy  prey  such  as  shrimps.  They  will  also  cannibalize  and  eat  other  assassin  snails  if  they  do  not  find  food.

 +1  @Preeths

You  can  temporarily  feed  them  on  tetra  bits  or  algae  wafers  (my  assassins  love  them),  but  they  will  not  miss  an  opportunity  to  grab  a  helpless  molting  shrimp  or  sick  fish.  So  its  just  a  matter  of  time  before  your  shrimps  start  falling  prey  to  them  Sad
