The Garra was collected from the Sangam the confluence of the Cauvery and Arkavathi rivers some 100 kms from Bangalore.
The juvenile is a member of my soilless community planted tank. No substrate used.

There are a lotta varients in both (mahecola/assimilis & filamentosa) the species from body colour to barbels depending upon the niches they live in. One most widely used difference is, P.filamentosa has a "filamentous" dorsal fin and the mahecola/assimilis species doesn't have. And WRT denisonii, IMO, its pretty unique out of any sort of confusion.
