 Hi,
I  check  with  Osram  dealers  and  found  that  there  are  ballasts  with  which  we  can  connect  4  T5  tubes  or  3  T8  tubes  in  a  signle  ballast.  This  should  make  our  electronic  board  more  neat  as  there  would  be  less  Ballasts.

Got  one  of  them  over  the  week  end  and  is  currently  fit  to  my  light  setting.

 Raghu

Will  let  you  know  the  code  once  i  reach  me.  Note  that  this  is  also  there  in  the  osram's  website

 I  suppose  it  was

 http://catalog.myosram.com/zb2b/b2b/start.do?browsername=mozilla%2F4.0%2520%2528compatible%253B%2520msie%25206.0%253B%2520windows%2520nt%25205.0%253B%2520.net%2520clr%25201.1.4322%2529&browsermajor=4&browserminor=4

But  will  confirm  it  once  i  reach  home.

 Regards
 Raghu

 Hi  Folks,
Check  the  Osram's  product  catalog  on  the  acessories  for  T5  lighting.  Looks  like  you  have  to  go  through  that  to  see  the  description.

These  are  gonna  cost  you  around  400  bucks.

This  is  what  i  was  talking  about  of  electronic  ballast  which  can  connect  2  /  3  4ft  T5  tubes  or  2/3/4  2ft  T5  tubes.

Sorry  abt  the  picture  quality....  I  should  be  getting  my  SLR  Digi  cam  in  a  couple  of  days.  Hope  to  have  finer  pics  shortly.

 Regards
 Raghu

 Hi  Raghu

this  will  work  fine  for  2   36  w  tubes.  I  am  not  to  sure  if  one  can  hook  up  the  electricals  properly  for  3  T5.  Again  for  4  18w  T8  tubes  it  might  be  possible  but  not  to  sure  about  the  electricals  again.

There  is  professional  series  ballast  available  by  osram  which  is  made  for  running  4  18w  T8  tubes.  Again  this  has  to  be  imported.

    Regards
       Harshal.

 Hi  Harshal,
I  did  try  3  X  24W  of  T5  and  it  works  very  well  with  this.  Also  4  X  14W  T5  also  is  good  with  this.

As  per  the  spec  this  can  be  used  for  T5.

On  the  wiring  i  found  it  really  easy  with  a  signle  strand  wire.   And  they  are  working  fine  with  the  manual  operation  of  switches  every  day.

One  of  my  friend  Uday  who  is  also  a  IAH'ian  found  it  difficult  on  the  wiring,  Not  sure  why  will  be  checking  it  this  week  end  for  him.

 Regards
 Raghu

 Hi  Raghu

Thats  Great!!  its  always  better  if  you  can  reduce  the  no  of  ballasts  used!  and  if  it  works  well  for  you  then  it  will  for  all  of  us!!   Very Happy   BTW  wating  for  the  snaps  of  the  T5s.

    Regards

Over  the  last  week  end,  I  got  2  osram  T5  14  watt  860  tubes.  Now  I  am  looking  for  required  ballast  for  these.  Is  there  any  ballast  wich  can  connect  both  the  tubes  ?  Please  let  me  know  the  exact  name.  I  already  talk  to  a  osram  dealer  and  he  is  saying  it's  available  but  I  want  to  make  sure  before  I  buy  it.
Also  let  me  know  how  to  connect  them  with  ballast.  Do  I  need  a  separate  starter  for  them(  like  ordinary  tubes?)

 Thanks,
 Sibesh

 Hi  Sibesh,
Go  for  the  EZ-H  ballast,  In  future  you  can  re-wire  to  connect  multiple  tubes  and  this  can  connect  2  T5  14W  tubes  easily.

You  do  not  require  a  starter  for  this.  The  wiring  of  the  tubes  in  drawn  on  the  ballast  itself.

 Regards
 Raghu

is  this  EZ-H  ballast  made  by  osram  ?
I  could  see  few  ballast  mention  in  Osram  site  ..  but  there  name  is  completely  different  !!
Apart  from  ballast  anything  else  do  we  need  for  eg.  holder  for  T5  ?

 Hi  Sibesh,
Yes!!!  The  EZ-H  Ballast  is  from  Osram.

Yes  you  also  need  to  buy  the  tube  holder,  They  are  pretty  simple  to  wire.  you  just  need  to  push  the  wire  inside  the  holder  and  the  wire  gets  locked  in  the  holder.

Note  that  a  Signle  strand  wire  is  better  for  T5  tube  wiring.

 Regards
 Raghu
