I know a air bubble when I see one. Those bubbles on the rock are due to the algae photosynthesizing don't you think?
What i'm referring to are transparent cylindrical bags which are hanging from the rock under the ledge where you see the rock anemones now.
I will try post a pic of them too.

Coralline algae as the name suggests is calcium based and is hard to touch - not jelly like! A better picture might help.
Again, the Peysonnelia sp. is smooth and velvety and only sometimes can develop leaf-lke formations yes, these formations can be a bit elastic or flexible if you feel it. The colour is a dark shade of red and is often commonly known as the chest nut algae. I don't think it appreciates strong lights as I have often seen some formations on the undersides of the LR and what ever encrustations start on the upper side of the LR are taken care of by my tangs.
However, the discussion of algae species is something that sparks debates even now as there are so many 'un-identified' algae still to be classified.
