 My  choices  from  your  mentioned  list  would  be  Frontosas, better  if  you  have  these  in  a  glass  tank, you  will  enjoy  their  real  beauty.

 apart  from  these  fish  you  can  keep  most  of  the  smaller  Tang  cichlids  there[which  r  not  in  your  list]

 I'm  partial  towards  salvinis!  Plus  you  can  keep  them  in  combination  with  a  few  other  fish.

 And  some  morphs  of  jack  dempsey  are  almost  surreal!

 Btw,  how  come  oscars  arent  on  your  list?  Red  oscars  grow  into  really  handsome  fish!

 You  can  also  go  for  Malavi  Cichlid  Tank  with  some  clown  loaches  &  corry  cats  as  scavenger  fishes.  Malavi  Cichlids  are  very  colorful  &  cheap  also  compared  with  Tang  Cichlids.  Easily  available  in  Chennai

 @siddhusai
 I  have  only  seen  the  Jack  Dempsey  once  in  my  life  at  an  LFS  in  calcutta.  From  what  i  gather  they  are  available  in  Mumbai.  I  had  even  heard  that  the  electric  blue  morph  was  for  a  period  of  time  in  the  market.  However  this  is  all  information  that  i  have  heard  from  other  people  so  I'm  not  sure  how  reliable  it  is.  Try  to  contact  dealers  in  Mumbai  who  will  be  willing  to  export  to  Chennai  or  look  for  the  JD  from  IAHians  in  Chennai  itself.

 As  for  sexing  the  JD,  juveniles  are  particularly  hard  to  differentiate.  However  as  they  increase  in  size  several  differences  come  up  -
 1.  Male  grows  larger  and  longer  (9"-10")  whereas  females  are  smaller  and  more  squat  (6"-8")
 2.  Males  have  bigger  and  pointier  fins.
 3.  Males  have  less  of  the  blue  colouration  on  their  gill  plates.
 4.  Males  will  have  dots  of  blue  colouration  on  the  gill  plates  whereas  females  tend  to  have  blotches.

 For  more  differences  please  check  out  some  websites  that  have  profiles  of  Jack  Dempseys.  Do  tell  us  if  you  can  get  one!

 Hi  Sidd
 As  a  cypho  lover  I  would  suggest  you  Frontosa,  Blue  Dolphin.  Trust  me  this  will  look  beautiful  in  your  large  tank.  Else  you  can  opt  for  Tanganykan  or  Malawi  Sps.
 Regards
 Kaushik

 Hi  Sidd
 As  per  your  queries  the   answers  are  as  follows:
