i  had  once  put  an  orchid  dottyback  into  a  tank  and  initially  he  was  always  the  gentle  one,  then  he  was  the  terror.

another  example,  i  added  3  clowns  (1  maroon  and  2  small  sebae)
initial  days  saw  the  maroon  bullying  them.  in  a  few  weeks  i  see  they  have  bitten  the  entire  tail  of  the  maroon  clown  (which  eventually  died)

However,  agression  will  surely  be  there  here  since  the  tank  is  small  and  has  less  hiding  spaces.

lets  wait  and  watch  pree's  posts  rather  than  scaring  her   Chuckle

Btw,  which  damsel  was  that?  i  couldnt  make  out  from  the  pic.  looks  all  yellow  with  a  band  or  blue/black  on  the  head.

 Hi  Ranjith,

I  searched  all  top  sites  for  a  description  of  this  fellow.  Initially  I  thot  he  was  a  3  striped  damsel  [since  he  was  sold  to  me  as  tht].  I  attribed  the  yellow  to  his  juvi  status  and  felt  it  would  fade  over  time.  But  how  his  size  has  increased  and  the  yellow  is  getting  stronger.  I  was  hoping  for  some  ID  from  you  guys...

Also  its  not  clear  in  the  pic  but  his  eye  doesnt  have  the  first  of  the  stripe.  So  basically  he  has  only  2  stripes.

I  am  worried  abt  my  maroon.  He  is  so  docile.  The  damsel  has  him  wrapped  around  her  little  finger!!  He  just  stays  in  a  corner  till  I  am  away  from  the  room.  Once  I  am  in  it  ...he  follows  me  studiously...The  tank  is  between  my  bed  and  comp...So  when  I  am  working,  he  is  to  the  left  of  the  tank  wagging  his  tail.  When  I  am  resting,  he  comes  to  the  other  end  of  the  tank.  I  even  raise  my  arm  and  he  gets  all  excited!!  Infact  wen  I  switch  of  all  lights  and  only  my  bedside  lamp  is  on,  he  will  come  to  the  bedside  and  wag  his  tail  till  all  lights  are  off...and  then  finally  goes  to  his  fav  nook  in  the  other  end  of  the  tank  and  sleeps  [where  I  find  him  in  the  morn].

 Hi  Pree,
 just  curious
what  made  you  decide  on  the  maroon  and  damsel?

Have  you  got  the  inverts  yet?

 cheers
 Ranjith

The  damsel  was  supposed  to  be  a  test  fish...To  check  the  params..My  test  kits  told  me  all  was  fine,  my  pods  tol  me  all  was  fine...  so  finally  took  action  and  got  a  fish.   The  clown  was  love  at  first  sight  [  know  a  wrong  thing  to  do]  ...hence  started  pestering  my  partner  for  a  marine  tank  in  the  office  area.

 hehe
cool.  we  all  do  the  same  mistakes  i  guess.
however  you  will  have  to  think  of  another  home  for  the  clown  in  the  comming  months  as  he  will  outgrow  the  current  tank.

i  suggest  waiting  it  out  with  the  office  tank  to  learn  the  tricks  in  the  smaller  home  tank.
