I personally like abstract set ups. No theme, or flow, or symmetry....etc etc...Just plain simple NATURAL.....things strewn around as if they fell in there naturally.....Nothing MADE UP about it.....
Black background always does wonders for a planted tank. It brings out the green. |

Debarghya, I like the idea of only a grass field.. except that I have a few things to hide from the view for which the driftwood serves the purpose.. yet to invest in an all glass setup like the ADA systems
Lawrence.. I never said a black backdrop I am thinking of something offwhite or very light blue. I guess the black won't fit in with the view I am trying to get.
TIMS ..Yes the blue pipe is an eyesore. I am still thinking how to hide the blue pipe.. I am yet to find a transparent pneumatic pipeline.. All of them come in bold colors..Let me see if rearranging a bit in the back will hide it from the view.
Everyone.. thanks for the comments and the creative ideas.

Atanu,
Beautiful Tank!!!!
If the blue pipe is connected following a needle Valve then there are a few transparent tubes available which can withstand the pressure. I use a transparent tube myself. |

Hi Atanu,
Pneumatic tubing is not a must at this stage. Use a regular Airline tubing or silicone airline tubing.
You can pick it from me on your way back home. |

At the end point you do not need the pneumatic tube. An ordinary airline tube available at any LFS will do. Here both a green airline pipe and transparent silicon airline pipe is used. At the filter point the green pipe is just pushed and slid into the transparent silicon pipe and can be pulled out when required - So low is the pressure here. Same goes for any Co2 diffuser/reactor units in the aquarium.

Nice work Atanu,
Very nicely planed tank
Just a suggestion though, your lighting may be a little inadequate for the HC,
also you will need to trim the mosses regularly so they will grow well and you will be able to differentiate one from the other.
I love the way you have placed the wood with the moss on top, If i am correct the moss will grow out and the whole thing will look like a bushy tree.

Surya: Thanks for the willow moss.. Its more suitable than the nana on the wood(which was there earlier) and better than any other moss(because of big frond size) for such a small landscape...Your gift made my tank 100 times better.
Mayur: Bang on target.. I was seeing the leaves going yellow in some of my HC..not able to understand the reason.. Attached another PLL and am seeing all of them bubbling..Now I need to balance the dosing again..which I will do slowly over a period. Thank you.
One thing was still puzzling.. I was using a Boyu 9 watt clip on pll light earlier, and I was not seeing the HC problem then.. they were giving out new shoots and was rich green.. The yellowing started after I put on the PLL..Few HC bush which was actually in the shade of the rock are actually doing well than few other fellows which are out in the open under direct light.. I was guessing nutrition issue.. but then I am dosing and doing water change everyday and all my other plants are doing well including the hairgrass.. a very tricky plant.. Lets see how it does under a 72 watt light..keeping my finger crossed. |
