 hi  shishirkamat.
TETRA  GOLDFIN  GROWTH    is  ideal  for  your  gold  fish  growth  and  TETRA  GOLDFIN  COLOUR    is  best  for  good  colouration.little  bit  cheap  but  excellent  results.

Spirulina's  got  to  be  the  best  food  for  gold  fish.    The  best  would  be  sprinkling  raw  spirulina  in  your  tank  and  allowing  spirulina  algae  to  bloom.    Else  any  spirulina  rich  pellet  would  do  fine.

Would  this  Spirulina  include  those  tabs/capsules  that  we  people  consume,  or  is  it  supposed  to  be  specifically  intended  for  fish?

Spirulina  tabs  that  people  eat  is  good  enough  for  fish.  We  have  all  fed  them  to  fry  at  some  time  or  other,  added  the  powder  to  BHM  etc.,

You  do  get  Spirulina  granules,  from  a  guy  in  Nasik  or  some  such  place,  if  I  am  not  mistaken,  it  was  Rs.500/-  a  kg.  I  had  some  of  this  which  all  my  fish  used  to  relish.

Lost  the  guys  address  when  my  comp  crashed  sometime  ago.

Adip  might  have  his  address  available.

In  that  case,  I  have  some  tabs.  I  powder  it,  and  add  a  pinch?  This  is  for  2  goldfish.

Nope,  for  fry  you  can  add  the  powder,  for  adult  fish  powder  won't  work,  it's  too  fine.  You'll  have  to  mix  it  with  some  other  food  and  then  feed.

What  if  I  break  the  tabs  into  bite-sized  pieces,  and  drop  them  into  the  tank?  Would  that  work,  'because  I  truly  don't  know  what  to  mix  the  powder  with  and  feed  them.

 Hi

An  inexpensive  source  of  pure  spirulina  is  a  medicine  called  NATOXID  10  -  they  are  500  mg  tablets  available  at  all  chemists.  for  fry  and  guppies  etc,  it  can  be  powdered  and  given,  for  medium  /  big  fish,  it  should  be  mixed  with  other  food  and  given  (frozen  beefheart,  spirulina,  carrots,  lettuce  and  our  good  old  elodea  densa  -  makes  a  lovely  mix  for  all  fish)

 Cheers!!!

Jenny  If  it  is  tablet  you  are  talking  of  I  haven't  seen  them  but  they  will  be  a  on  a  CaCo3  base  or  some  such  thing.  I  dunno  if  the  fish  will  eat  them.
And  what  will  happen  to  them  because  of  the  CaCO3  or  some  such  thing  again  I  dont  know.  Why  don'tyou  try  it  out  and  let  us  all  know.

What  I  was  referring  to  was  the  capsules.

I  have  fed  adult  P.dennisoni  spirulina  granules.  So  as  long  as  the  fish  eat  them  you  can  feed  them.
