 LED  are  spot  light  type  you  will  need  reflector  to  spread  he  light  over  a  wider  area.  blue  LED  are  used  as  moonlight  in  marine  aquarium  used  without  an  reflector  it  produces  a  narrow  shaft  of  light  that  looks  spectular  at  night.
